5 Stupid Social Media Mistakes that New Motivational Speakers Must Avoid

If you (seriously) want to become a Motivational Speaker in India, STOP MAKING THESE 5 SOCIAL MEDIA MISTAKES:

1. Not creating videos. As you may know, I continuously create, and upload videos on my YouTube channel. Whether it’s a video of me speaking directly to camera, or me on stage, or a 3-minute clip from my keynote speeches or training programs--- I upload videos to add value to my tribe.

I have hundreds & hundreds of videos online that market me--- even when I am asleep, or when I am away for a vacation with my family. My videos are always marketing.

If you want to be a professional speaker or motivational speaker or corporate trainer, get your videos online. Upload on FREE videos hosting sites like YouTube, Vimeo etc.

2. Not having a Facebook page. Please note, I am NOT talking about having a Facebook profile. I am talking about having a Facebook page. Look at the difference:

Create a page of your own (it’s FREE) and post relevant content regularly to add value to your followers. Serve them.

3. No testimonials.

Serial Entrepreneur Mark Cuban says: “Customers want to see that you have other customers.”

No CEO will want you to come deliver your first paid speech at their convention. So, for building trust, you have to get feedback (in written or video format) or testimonials from existing clients and other companies you have worked with, and then provide those “social proof” content when negotiating with new clients. This builds trust.

If you have never spoken before, or have no clue how to get testimonials, I can show you how to get that done. Call us on +91-88803-61526 to know the modules we will cover at The Influencer BootCamp. You will discover how to create your own brand and how to use social media in the right way to acquire training, coaching clients, and get invited to speak at corporate companies.

4. Posting quotes from Tony Robbins, Robin Sharma, Les Brown etc. instead of creating your own tips.

Listen, I LOVE Tony Robbins.

I respect Robin Sharma.

And I know Les Brown personally, and he knows me too.

But posting their content doesn’t make you look like an expert. You need to create your own quotes, tips, strategies for which people will respect you, follow you. If you don’t know how to do that, no worries--- on the 2nd day at The Influencer BootCamp I will show you how you can create about 60 quotes in less than 15 minutes. It’s very easy, once you know the formula I use.

5. Not having a way to drive people to a sales process. Listen, if you want to become a motivational speaker, you are not using social media just to pass time. It’s a serious place to get your name established and get hundreds of clients.

If you have no clear idea how to get clients from social media, you will be one of those frustrated people who just keeps posting and posting on social media without ever speaking outside their bedroom. I hope you are not one of those people. I hope you are open to learning how you can serve your followers online and then deliver so good content that they start consuming you (by hiring you for their upcoming conference, by hiring you as their ongoing life coach etc.)

Most of the CEOs that have hired me as a speaker in the past have come to know about me from Social Media or any other CEO I have worked with in the past.

Recently I got a call from an event planner from Kenya--- she wanted to know how to bring me there to Kenya for a 4-day event.

I asked her: “How did you come to know about me?”

She replied: “Social Media. I found you on YouTube.”

How many of these mistakes are you currently making on Social Media?

How are they affecting your career negatively?

Imagine cracking the code of social media and personal branding, and then flawlessly moving toward your goal of becoming a motivational speaker. Imagine getting 10-15 calls a month from potential clients who want to hire you for a keynote speech next month and want to know your fee and whether or not you are available.

How cool will that be??

We will talk about all of that. I have built my brand from scratch, and I want to help you do the same--- so you can go from a “Struggling Speaker” to a “Successful Speaker” this year.
