How to Build More Trust and Connection with People

One of my favorite things in life is to give my honest feedback.

Recently I got a call from a lady named Zahiya who came to Bangalore from UAE for a business trip for about 5 days. When she was in Bangalore, she called my office and spoke with me for a few minutes.

“I want to improve my voice, and I have seen your videos and I know that you can help me, Mr. Bishal.”

“Zahiya, I would love to help you--- tell me a little bit more about the problems you’re facing with your voice and what results you’re after.”

She told me in details.

I knew that I could help her a little bit with her voice (my area of expertise is CONFIDENT Presentation Skills, not voice) but I knew of someone else who could help her.

So I told her immediately: “Zahiya, I can help you a little since your problem is that your voice becomes weak after a little of speaking. But I am going to recommend that instead of getting coached by me, get a product named The Perfect Voice by Roger Love.”

Well--- I have a problem with that.

I have a problem with saying YES to someone who I know can have a better option than me regarding the problem that person is trying to solve.

I have a problem is taking advantage of peoples’ trust that they bestow upon me.

I have a problem in “make some quick money.”
