Audience Does Not Care How Much You Know Until They Know How Much You Care by Bishal Sarkar

Would you like to REALLY CONNECT WITH PEOPLE in your audience?

One of the mistakes I used to make earlier in my speaking career was that I used to bombard people with my points of knowledge and didn’t care even to connect with them.

And the main reason I couldn’t connect with my audiences was that I didn’t care about them.

Yes, right. I didn’t care about them.

I used to care about my getup.

I used to care about words.

I used to care about my gestures and body language.

But I never cared about the most important element present in the room: PEOPLE.

If you don’t care for people, they will know it in less than 3 seconds.

Would you agree?

Probably you have met a salesperson in the past who never cared for you, he just cared about making money from you--- and you came to know about it and never trusted him.

Probably you have met a motivational speaker in the past who never cared for you, he just cared about getting your claps--- and you came to know about it and never followed his advice.

Probably you have met a teacher in the past who never had the intention of helping you practically, he just cared about “being your teacher and dominating you”--- and you came to know about it and never saw that person as a role model.

My friend, remember that: Audience Does Not Care How Much You Know Until They Know How Much You Care.

So a great way for you to REALLY CONNECT WITH PEOPLE is to genuinely care.

Think about their benefits from your presentation, more than you think about your stage presence.

Think about how you can change someone’s life with your speech, more than you think about getting a standing ovation.

Think about making a difference in at least one person’s perspective in the audience, more than you think about trying to impress them.

Recently I wrote on facebook: "Be good with people. You'll never fail with that one principle in life." - Bishal Sarkar

Would you agree with the statement?

Great!

Now go out there, genuine care for your audience and you will see that they will make you a superhero as a speaker.

All the best.
